The Swiss love trains and the Swiss love wine, especially the creamy mineral Chasselas.
There is no perhaps no better terroir for Chasselas than the incredibly steep Dezaley. If it didn't make the best Chasselas, nobody would put up with this crazy slope where you work pretty much on your knees. The Chemin de Fer has a different challenge: right at the bottom of the slope, you are harvesting right next to the train line!
Chemin de Fer is one of the most famous, named after a little of it had to be sacrificed to make the train line (and later road). Massy's grandfather negociated the right to keep making wine and replanted on every scrap of the land. It is one of the legendary Dézaley, and well worth it.
It is the wine I chose to lay down for my godchild to get for his 20th birthday (he received a case of the 1996 vintage in 2016).
If you are not familiar with Chasselas, Massy's other wines, Clos du Boux and La Crosse, reflect the same quality and winemaker style, but in a more accessible, easy drinking wines.

Pale gold in appearance.
Nose:Youthful, a medium plus intensity of mineral stones with creamy notes from the MLF and some white flowers.
Palate: Dry, high acidity, medium plus body. high alochol and a very long finish. Pronounced intensity aromas of dairy/creamy notes continue on the palate with strong mineral notes and aromas of wet stones.
