Located in Weststeiermark, the smallest winesgrowing region in Austria, with just one DAC, dedicated to give special recognition to the Schilcher a Rosé still and sparkling wine made from the Blauer Wildbacher grape. This is an ancient red grape variety producing balanced wines with a fresh acidity that offsets the sweetness.
Stefan Langmann's family have been making wine heer since 1746! He is one of the best producers of these unique wines that has found international acclaim but is still hard to find outside Austria!
With the vines positioned on beauiful sunny slopes at altitudes if 525m to 590m above sea level they benefit from a wide dirnal range which brings a wonderful freshness to these wines along with the varietal bright red fruits character. Stefan also works sustainably working in harmony with nature.
The end result of this ideal climate, slate soils and perfectly ripe grapes is a gastronomic Rosè to enjoy with food unlike the lighter Provençal styles; so whether its roast pork belly, sushi or your favourite fried chicken recipe, look no further than Stefan's wonderful wines!
Stefan also produces a super complex Sauvignon Blanc that undergoes lees ageing and is matured in large wooden foudres
