Petite Arvine, probably originally brought to the Valais by the Romans, is one of the varieties that makes the Valais so interesting and this is one of the most interesting examples I have come across. Another of Chanton's high altitude wines made from grapes grown around Varen and Visp, this wine is a delight. It is the perfect match for all sorts of fish but especially salmon and goat and sheeps cheeses.
