There's Petite Arvine and then there's Marie-Thérèse Chappaz's Grain Arvine!! Its the kind of wine that once tried it becomes a lifelong favourite as previous buyers will testify and we see in repeat orders. Although being a cult winemaker our allocatinos are always quite small.
This wine has a lovely medium gold colour.
On the nose its all about freshness with notes of mint and grapefruit, evolving into a richly complex aromatic profile.
On the palate it's full bodied and silky , there is a slightly saline character and a touch of praline on the finish. This wine is dry, voluptuous, and capable of great ageing potential, if you can hold out that long!

Vintage 2018
A warmwe vintage producing an expression of this wine that is very different to the very savoury 2017.. Here two components play in opposition to each other to produce a perfectly balanced wine. First theres some residual sugar, not surprising given the 2018 summer in the Valais and the resulting 14.9% abv. Yes this wine has both high acidity and a lovely saline and mineral quality acts as the foil to the sweetness. Almost reminiscent of some of the great Smaragd wines of Leo Alzinger especially the Gruner Veltliner Loibenberg 2018. Aromas of ripe quince are the primary fruit aromas followed by preserved lemons and alpine herbs. Another Chappaz classic...
