Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes
Champmarais is a day-bright, pigeon-blood-red wine with purple hues. It is a rich, complex and highly fragrant wine with excellent ageing potential. It presents the aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, morello cherry and hints of spices (peppercorn, vanilla). On the palate, the wine is elegant and velvety with the fruit and wood tannins perfectly integrated. This is one wine you’ll find very hard to enjoy in moderation.

More

This is a no compromise, over the top wine, made the old heroic way. It floors anyone who has the chance to try it.

The grapes used all come from a single vineyard where every effort is made to ensure perfection at every stage. These select Cornalin grapes are fermented open in 400 litre barrels made of new oak. The resulting wine is then aged, again in 400 litre new oak barrels, for 2 years.

An exceptionally impressive expression of Cornalin. A brilliant purple colour and complex nose which sports red berries, spiciness and a touch of incense.
