A very pale yellow-green with an elegant nose of lime and white flowers. The palate is immediately assailed with its rich creamy texture and masses of rich ripe fruit, with exotic fruit flavours, hints of peaches and passion fruit. Just a hint of honey on the finish followed by a restrained yet pleasing mineral acidity.
Ben says (July 2016): The way that wine develops with age is always fascinating. I am leaving the original notes above as the comparison is worthwhile. The very pale colour has been transformed into a deep Mediterranean sunset gold which is utterly beautiful. The white flowers have been superceded by honey made from their pollen but the lime remains, as does enough petrol to confirm the Riesling grape. The texture is still rich and creamy and the fruit flavours have matured into a gorgeous amalgamation of sensory pleasure with more of the white flower honey drizzled on top. The finish is long and exquisite.
This is amazing!
Ben says (November 2018): Never judge a wine by the first sip! On the first sip there was a slight doubt as to whether this wine was still as good as previously. Thankfully, from the second sip onwards it is! The notes from 2016 stand firm and it remains a beautiful wine.
