What if we can't be home to accept delivery?
We try our best to make sure that the courier can send you an SMS or email with information so you can react to rearrange in advance.
If you know ahead of time you can't be in, leave delivery instructions when placing the order - any preferred days, a safe place to leave the wine (at your own risk), or neighbours you trust to take it for you. DHL/UK Mail is also increasingly offering pick up locations at convenience shops and lockers, and we can arrange that if you request it in comments
If nobody is there and nothing was prearranged, the courier will leave a card advising that you can collect the package at the depot or arrange redelivery.
It's also possible in some regions that they will spontaneously leave the parcel with a neighbour but you can't count on that so leave instructions.
Couriers will also typically retry delivering automatically the next day, so call them right away if you received a card and won't be home as couriers will only attempt to deliver twice.
PS: If using a safe place, please think of temperature. Our packaging is insulating but it won't save the wine if there is direct sunlight on the box for a couple of hours, or if the temperature is below freezing.
