This wine is from the Champ Drury vineyard - the blend is between 90% Pinot, 10% Gamay to 80% Pinot 20% Gamay depending on the vintage.
Nature means indeed natural, no added SO2 or anything. Originally Marie Therese was a bit worried that the wine wouldn't travel or keep all that well, but enough people insisted and so far nobody's complained.
The soil here is limestone, and the vines are quite young by Chappaz's standards, a little over 25 years.
At first taste it's mostly Pinot, but if you have tried the Champ Drury Pinot you can see what goes missing when the Gamay's not along for the ride.
