This is a lovely grape, though little known in the UK. The wine is 100% certified organic and has just enough oak to make itself known but not overwhelm the flavours from the grape.
Light eastern spices, notably turmeric and coriander, mingle withapricots to give a real feel of Arabian promise. In the mouth the apricots meet peaches while greengages add acidity to the mix.
The spices make me want to serve this with a Tagine but obviously it can accompany anything you'd enjoy an oaked white with.
Rotgipfler is a natural cross of Traminer and Roter Veltliner.

Appearnce: Pale gold
Nose: Red apple peel intertwinned with a rich resinous aroma
Palate: Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium plus body and a lovely long finish.
Pronounced intensity aromas of ripe red apple peel and red apples, white currants mirabelle plums. Some spicy notes too with a hint of star anise and some dried guava/pineapple with a hint of cedar.
A really excellent wine showing some interesting development and offering excellent value for money. Would be fantatsic with a Moroccoan tagine or rich brown crabmeat linguni.
