Dôle is a classic blend in Swiss Valais - Pinot Noir and Gamay. This blend works so amazingly well it is surprising that it hasn't been copied the world over (they are starting to discover it in Savoie). The Dôle blend manages to balance interesting complexity and fruitiness in a wine that is deliciously easy drinking when young and develops warmth and spice when ageing. One of the best Dôles I found in 2013 - complex, interesting, excellent and sooo easy drinking. A very special wine.
