The Diem family have been farming land around their medieval farmhouse for generations, but Gerald and Andrea Diem are the first generation to focus exclusively on wine.
The Diem's have been in Obermarkerdsdorf since 1848. Gerald Diem took over the family business in 2000.
He studied in Krems, followed by six months of practical training at Chateau Haut Chatain, in Pomerol.
The focus is on producing fruity and aromatic wines that really express the variety and vineyards.
Every year his Riesling Rosenhügel has been amazing - for me one of the highlights in my range.
