Swiss star oenologue Daniel Dufaux, president of the Swiss Oenologues, continues to take Badoux from strength to strength as shown by the "Cuvée Prestige" range, the "Lézard Rouge" and the "Aigle Les Murailles Rouge".
Founded in 1908, Badoux is the star of the Chablais and of Swiss Wine.
They make a wide range of wines from grapes grown in and around Aigle, neighbouring Yvorne and further afield in the Valais.
The "Aigle Les Murailles" is one of the top wines, one of the most famous in Switzerland and it's amazing how far and wide it is known - deservedly so. The crazy steep vineyards are amongst the most spectacular around.
Besides the classic Aigle wines there are also fascinating white Chasselas, powerful red blends from Lavaux and from the Chablais towns of Yvorne and Ollon.
Particular favourites of mine are the Aigle les Murailles, always and forever, the quirky Lézard Rouge and the Merlot Lettres de Noblesse, an incredible cool climate Merlot, an extraordinary red worth twice what we sell it for.
A very special customer favourite is the wine they make at Chillon castle - a lovely Chasselas in light elegant oak. We've had some in not so long ago but don't know when we will have some more, so if you loved it, take some.
Tip: A sampling of our mature 2009 wines from the "Maison du Lézard" range have floored me - the Gamay is the best "rare beef" wine ever and the Heida is magnificent! Grab some before they are gone.
