This is a dark burnished gold beauty.
The tropical aromas on the nose are almost overpowering and wonderfully honeyed.
On the palate it is beginning to taste a lot like Christmas with dried and crystallised fruits in abundance. The honey is exceptional and, although this is quite a viscous wine, the texture is not cloying. The finish is very long and filled with fruit and sweetness.
For lovers of sweet wines, this is a must have as it is gorgeous and from a relatively unknown grape. For those exploring sweet wine, this is a pretty good place to start and use as a benchmark.
Ben says of the 2006 (October 2018): Still a remarkable wine with complex aromas and flavours that can keep you discovering more with every sniff and sip. Despite the weight and depth, the wine retains a lovely freshness and there is sufficient citrus acidity to prevent it from being cloying.
