More about this wine

The 2009 is lovely and smooth. Give it half an hour in the fridge to chill slightly before serving. If it is too warm the alcohol can dominate on the nose. Otherwise this is ridiculously good value for money and outshines a few Cru!

A brilliant 2011 Beaujolais Villages by Philippe Deschamps - an absolutely classic Beaujolais Villages from old vines that puts many crus to shame. With spices and cherry on the nose there is also a metallic/blood aroma which is reminiscient of mature Bordeaux! In the mouth there is a lot of herbal flavour. Still a very good wine.

The 2013 is a real smoothy. The nose is quite subdued but as you would expect from Gamay and on the palate this is a fruity and delicious wine.
