More about this wine
Another wine from the Royal House of Lichtenstein.
Crunchy fresh red and green apples, pears and green melons, like a fruit basket. A well made and harmonic blend of the 4 varieties - 44% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Muskat Ottonel, 20% Grüner Veltliner,12% Riesling.
The lucky tasters at Kilburn Wine Circle in Derbyshire tasted this in June 2016 and enjoyed it thoroughly. One member who claimed to detest Grüner Veltliner declared it his favourite of the night and rightly so. The blend produces a delicious white that makes for a complex apéritif or a fine accompaniment to many dishes. I would love this with veal escalopes or roast turkey.
For the grape nerds, you may be interested to know the Swiss connection (apart from the obvious geographical one). The grape Muscat Ottonel is the product of Chasselas and Muscat d'Eisenstadt.
