Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Loibenberg

Alzinger's warmest Grüner

The grapes for this wine are picked late, gently pressed and are all processed using gravity rather than pumps. Fermentation takes place in large oak casks, developing on fine lees.

More about this wine

This is a complex wine - it has just the slightest hint of botrytis on the nose along with blossom and cracked white pepper. On the palate the wine is rich, dense, and complex, with good minerality and a malty delicate spiciness with a hint of mint. Very long, slightly earthy finish.

Usually my favourite of all Alzinger wines and alas, I am not the only one! Small allocations.

Serve at 10-12°C

2007: ABV 13.5%. Residual sugar 4.0g/litre. Parker 94 points.
2008: ABV 13.5%
2009: ABV 13.5%
2010: ABV 13.5%.
