More about this wine

Part of a special set of wine made for, and in collaboration with, top chef Bernard Ravet of restaurant L'Ermitage in Vufflens-le-Château.

"Switzerland isn’t just skiing and banking. The Swiss make some outstanding wines and this oaked Chardonnay from the Cave de La Côte, a co-operative producing more than 200 different vintages, is one of them. Flavours of pineapple, lemon and apple mingle with vanilla and butter to create an intense and fruity bouquet. Enjoy it with some Swiss cheese." John Clarke, The Independent, 13 May 2016

Tasting Notes

2009:

Lively, spirited, with a beautiful golden colour. On the nose there are notes of vanilla, citrus fruit, white flowers such as iris, peach, apricot with a pinch of nutmeg. From the outset the talent and resilience of the winemaker unfolds on the palate. The fine mineral structure leads to a graceful, fresh and delicious taste. On the finish there is a hint of vanilla and light citrus notes.
