Schmitges wines are always good and worth exploring. I suppose that this might be considered the lowest quality of his wines in that it is a simple dry Riesling. But do not let that deter you from this wonderful liquid! It may be entry level but it is delightful!
A beautiful Riesling nose with plenty of diesel, under-ripe apples and a clever hint of sweetness that only appears ethereally. Splendidly dry in the mouth and packed with flavour - apple, lime, sherbet. A long, satisfying, finish completes this well-balanced treat.
At this price, I have no idea why there is any left!
Flo says of the 2009 (July 2018): This wine is a pleasure, a long satisfying flavour of apple and sherbert lemons lasts on the palate long after your last taste. It looks like, smells like and tastes like a great Riesling and puts a smile on our faces.
