Terroir wine to show the Mosel Riesling style. Noble elegance meets dreamlike minerals.
The 2009 is a classy example. Fabulous price/quality ratio. Savour now until 2018.
Ten years ago Andreas Schmitges formed the idea of Grauschiefer ("Grey Slate") with the intent of creating a universal dinner wine that mirrored the uniqueness of a good Mosel Riesling, especially showing off its minerality. This is now in common use but he says he invented the idea. He certainly shows a great example.
