When first tasted, this was a crisp, dry Riesling. That was 2010. Now, in 2016, the wine has matured into something completely different.
Almost golden in the glass, the nose has plenty of green apple still, with some petrol evident. All quite typical, you might say correctly. In the mouth, however, you discover what age can do to a wine. This is no longer dry and crisp but has mellowed into what appears to be an off-dry wine, slightly sweeter than a feinherb, and utterly delicious. The aromas transfer perfectly into the flavours and the finish is scrumptious and long.
Hoorah for the chemistry of wine!
