Neuburger

Neuburger is a grape with relatively low acidity and poorer examples can seem rather flat. Not this one - possibly the best everyday Neuburger I've tasted. It has an aromatic nose, floral, with rose petals, some minerals and a real buzz on the palate. There's a lot going on in this wine - it's very full-bodied, tropical flavours with a real liveliness and bite, good acidity and a little spritz, followed with minerals, hazelnuts and a hint of honey on the long finish. This is a serious wine at an everyday wine price. Very pleasant indeed, good on its own or with food - try it with freshwater fish, schnitzel, or white meats - it also partners well with pork chops. Ben says (July 2016): This is yet another beautifully dressed wine. It is a glorious bronze, shimmering like a glint of sunlight off Achilles' breastplate. The nose gives a burst of fresh clear tropical honey with hints of watermelon and cucumber. On the palate the buzz from 2014 has now matured but the tropical flavours live on! Along with the subtler flavours from the nose there is pineapple, mango and even a little hint of chocolate. The finish is very long and the flavours continue to play in your mouth.

This is an exceptional wine experience and I would encourage everyone to try it. You won't be disappointed!
