This Morgon from Fernand Gravallon is a dark red/purple which has good body with aromas of violets, kirsch and minerals mirrored on the palate. Excellent ageing potential and good with food. Drinking well now but may be cellared for some years to come. Excellent with cheeses and game. Drink around 14-15°C. Up to 2008 it was called Corcelette, from 2009 this is called Morgon Cuvée Prémium. The wines however are unchanged and are just as good as ever.
Ben says of the 2009 (September 2018): I started giggling as I brought the glass to my nose because the wonderful aroma hit me long before I started to consciously sniff! Deep red cherries assault your senses in a way that you wish would continue for ever. The kirsch and minerality still remain and, as before, all the aromas transfer perfectly to the palate and remain in the long and glorious finish.
