More about

Plantings of Gelber Muskateller or to use its French name Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains have risen threefold in Austria in the period from 1999 to 2007 and now stand at around 422 ha. It's not hard therefore to see why this particular wine always sells out fast every year and on several occasions why our Buyer, Joelle has missed her chance to grab some.

The winery sell out of each vintage very quickly, so whenever we are lucky enough to get a small allocation of the vintage it's case of buy it when you see it as it might be gone for another year when you revisit us!

Altogether an excellent wine and a great find by Joelle!

More

Austrian Muskateller was one of my revelations once I started exploring Austrian wines years ago. Muscat is widely used worldwide but it is often a bit imprecise, a bit "mushy". In Austria, Muskateller is crisp, pure, precise, mineral. The muskat notes are sharp and clear. It is a beautiful thing.
