Still fresh but starting to get a little mature flavour pushing through, including some sneaky petrol aromas as well!
Here we have a beautiful, bone-dry, Furmint with great character. It is a shimmering pale yellow/green with a nose of green apple and plenty of vegetal undertones. In the mouth there is an immediate, refreshing, hit of kiwi and apple with an underlying creaminess that is sustained through the long finish, where fruit flavours become almost like sherbet and the acidity sets the mouth watering and begging for more. This is a delightful wine.
Although most people will associate Furmint with the wonderful sweet wines of Hungary, it would be a mistake to think that was all there was to this grape.
