A very interesting and promising grape and this is a delicious example. Doral is a cross between Chardonnay and Chasselas. Stronger bodied than Chasselas and fruitier than Chardonnay. Perfect for cheese fondue if you think the classic Chasselas is often too light - or with freshwater fish.
A guaranteed puzzler in a blind tasting (well yes, it is a bit unfair!).

Appearance: bright straw yellow, with flashes of green.
Nose: deep aroma of fruit, flowers and spices. Fruits include apricot, peach and pear. Also some tropical notes of papaya, Guava and star fruit. Flowers are white and yellow, with aromatic spices such as nutmeg.
Taste: complex fresh and fruity wine. The sweetness and acidity blend with fruit flavours. Medium plus to long finish

This wine is a cross of both grapes and it takes the best parts of both of them. Lemon balm, flint rocks, white peach and a note of Creme Brulee make up this unusual wine.
