Domaine de Montmollin

Since the 17th century the family de Montmollin, have been working the terroir and continuing the tradition of grape growing and sale of fine wines.

Today Benoit and his sister, Rachel Billeter-de Montmollin, who represent the 4th generation, have taken  over the management of the Domaine. Grapes come from 8 villages on the northern shores of Lake Neuchâtel, the vineyards enjoy South-South West exposure allowing for the ideal amount of sunshine.

The vines enjoy the reflected sun light from the lake of Neuchâtel all the year round are planted on clay and limestone soil deep enough to allow the development of rich wines, fruity with a long finish. The vines are pruned using the Guyot method, with cultivation at mid-hight. Most of the wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks with ageing in steel for months.

A biodynamic culture was gradually introduced within their Estate and half of their vines were cultivated according to this standard in 2016. Convinced by the philosophy and the benefits of this method and above all of the excellent results, all of their 50 hectares have been cultivated in this way since 2017!

The tasting of their new vintages reveals wines that are more silky and rich and both we and the winemaers are delighted to introduce these wines to you.

From the 2019 vintage, all of our wines are certified Bio-Switzerland.
