Domaine de Maison Blanche - Vaud

Domaine de Maison Blanche - Vaud

Yves DeMestral, Domaine de Maison Blanche, Mont sur Rolle, Vaud, Switzerland - Top Swiss Winemaker

Vaud is Switzerland’s second wine producing region known as the ‘great land of Chasselas’. It produces a quarter of all Swiss wine. Wine is a core part of life and culture more than just about anywhere else.

Ideally situated on the shore of Lake Geneva, the Maison Blanche has been a wine estate in the hands of the de Mestral family since 1526. It is a beautiful location in one of the best classic vineyards of La Côte.

Today Yves de Mestral continues in the family tradition with innovation and passion and a growing reputation for excellence. The estate focuses principally and creatively on the typical Swiss grape which is the Chasselas with a few specialities purely out of passion - dessert and aged Chasselas but also Mondeuse Noire, Malbec and Savagnin.

Yves also makes wines from his uncle's vineyards in nearby Rolle - we list the Pinot Noir.

Yves' son Antoine spent 4 months working as an intern right here at Alpine Wines, some of you may remember him? and is now fully involved in the winery.
