- The Wine
A beautiful dark ruby, with a nose of fresh black olives, chopped thyme, laurel, some ground coriander, smoked bacon, black pepper, oak and liquorice. Dry, juicy fruit with very supple tannins which are quite typical varietal characteristics. Will age well. Let it breathe for a couple of hours after opening, then drink at 17-19°C with wild pheasant, bacon and cabbage, peppered steaks, pasta dishes and truffle dishes.

The grapes for this wine were harvested from the single vineyards of Kleine Öden, Turner (loess brown earth) and Kraxner (marl with schist). The grapes are de-stemmed and the must fermented for 8 days followed by 5 additional days of maceration, gentle pressing, malolactic fermentation and maturation in small oak barrels (50% new).
