- The Wine
Depending on the year, this is a blend of equal parts of Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Gelber Muskateller. A beautiful pale yellow, it's technically Halbtrocken with a hugely aromatic nose of rich bananas and tropical fruit aromas. On the palate it is dry, grapey, lees-ey and with a hint of spice. A lovely wine, fresh and vibrant.
Ben says of the 2012 (March 2017): A change in the blend for this vintage sees the Gelber Muskateller and Pinot Blanc being replaced by Welschriesling and Chardonnay. This has created a much rounder wine altough still very fresh. The Chardonnay brings the depth of flavour and body while the other grapes add acidity and green fruit flavours.
