- The Wine
Having a large range of Pinot Noir, not only from Switzerland but from Graubünden, might make you think that there will be a lot of similarity. That is laughably incorrect. They range from very light to hugely dark with every possible shade in between. This offering from Christian Hermann (not to be confused with Peter & Rosi Hermann) sits somewhere towards the middle, closing in on being quite a typical Pinot Noir.
The colour is a delicate ruby which is a subtle way of saying that it is very light. It has a very typical Pinot Noir nose with black cherry and earthy farmyard aromas.
On the palate, black cherry dominates. The tannins are not too bold but there is a distinct hotness with the 13% ABV being more pronounced than might be expected.
There is a fair finish with the cherry continuing.
Another excellent Pinot Noir from Graubünden.
