A bolder single origin Schilcher.
A premium single vineyard Schilcher.
A fabulous neon pink, with intense aromas of red berry fruit (raspberries, strawberries) and gooseberry. Rich berry fruit on the palate balances good acidity and there's a hint of citrus zest. Very good length. Very fresh. Drink chilled on its own or with salads, grilled meats or lightly spiced dishes.
(We tasted the last bottle of the Langegg 2010, another single vineyard Schilcher, on 8th April 2016. Goodness me, what an interesting wine! Full of sweet and sour rhubarb with a not-unpleasant metallic aftertaste. It was a real treat and shows that Blauer Wildbacher rosé can last a while and improve and evolve with age.)
Flo Says of the 2014 (July 2018): Rich sour rhubarb dances on your palette, intermingling with rich red berries. Beautiful chilled and ideal for bbq season this wine is perfect for sharing with friends in the sunshine.
