- The Wine
A great Riesling Federspiel from one of the top Austrian producers in one of the best locations in Austria deserves some attention as a value-for-money wine.
The Alzinger family continuously create the absolute top wines in the Wachau. Like all wines Alzinger offers, this Riesling Federspiel from Dürnsteiner is identifiable by its finesse and elegance. In the glass the wine glows pale yellow-green. The mineral bouquet displays aromas of grapefruit, apricot and green apple. The palate is refreshingly Riesling,. The wine shows that the Wachau is one of the most prestigious provenances for Riesling. This wine is typical Wachau and typical Alzinger - really good!
A pale yellow-green, with a nose of fruit (mirabelle plums) and minerals, with a principally mineral and stone fruit palate. Huge length, excellent.

Riesling Federspiel Dürnsteiner
The 2014– A wonderful delicate thing. Light in the glass and on the nose a delicate soft yellow fruit. When drinking at the start there was an almost soft bubbly sensation – so delicate (that word again!). So smooth. No citric sourness and hard edges here- No! The acidity throughout was just spot on with a little tweak at the end. A tease to tempt the next glass. Huge length. I’d heard of Wachau but not Alzinger. NICE!
