This is really a perfect introduction to Austrian Riesling - focused, crisp and zingy
It's a very pretty wine.
From Kamptal you expect citrus, peaches and white flowers, with a lot of dry "licking rocks" minerality. And that is exactly what you get.
First, it is fresh. The young vintages will wake you up, the older vintages mellow and widen a little. But this is an acidity that is bright and pleasant, nothing harsh about it.
The fruit is round and clean, and the minerality makes it feel cleaner yet. The finish is very long especially considering it is a "classic" entry level wine.
Because it is so focused it is also very flexible - you can drink it as an aperitif well chilled, but it goes with a lot of food. Just make sure you pick dishes that aren't ruined by acidity (not sushi or sashimi, for example)

Tasting Notes
Pale gold in appearance.
Nose: Youthful, medium plus intensity aromas of super minerality comes through with gunflint, followed by ripe peach and apple
Palate: Dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium plus body, long finish. Pronounced intensity of mineral stone, apple and stone fruit aromas with a citrus twist.
A very good wine drinking well and with the potential to age for at least another 3 years.
Super approachable quality 2nd level Riesling. Delivering perfect balance of stone fruits and a wonderful crisp minerality. The secret, a site in the Kamptal that forces the vine roots deep in search of water and nutrients that’s also perfect for optimal ripening.
