- The Wine
A pale straw colour with a nose which is floral (mimosa, acacia), mineral, with fine yellow fruit aromas. On the palate the wine is quite penetrating and lees-ey, has plenty of fruit, a hint of spice, minerals and is compact and dense. Excellent length with a nice acid streak in the finish. This wine represents extremely good value for money. Food recommendation, mussels or other shellfish, crab and lobster.
Ben says (April 2017): Still very drinkable but possibly in a time of change. Coming back to it after half an hour and then an hour, the wine had opened up tremendously and become very pleasant indeed. Worth drinking now (after decanting) or for keeping a few years.
Ben says (August 2018):

A good introduction to Pinot Blanc
My first pinot blanc and sauvignon blanc this is not. A rich honey aroma with an edge this had a dense body with a peach/almond taste. Nice, but the thing that stood out most for me was the spiced ending with a gentle acidic streak from the middle to the end. Unexpected and astonishing- like a singer hitting a precise, clear, long note with it continuing through unwavering and uninterrupted to the very end.
