This Marsanne was the best I found in 2013 in the Valais - and as I love Marsanne, I could not resist.

Ben says (December 2016): This is pure class. Scents of incense and honey mingle with hints of lychee and loam. It would make a very good perfume! In the mouth there is no hint of sweetness but vanilla does come through with some vegetal notes and green stone fruits. There is a spiciness, especially in the finish, which may be nutmeg but is quite elusive. Regardless of this, the wine is beautifully balanced and a real treat.

Ben says (February 2018): Please be aware that the 2009 is starting to throw a sediment. It is nothing to worry about but means that careful decanting should precede enjoyable drinking!

Tasting Notes

Ageing gracefully like an old Marsanne should. Fully developed now with no trace of primary fruit. A riot of glorius tertiary aromas led by hay. straw, a hint of ginger, baked greengages and dried apricots. Acidity still holding up bringing a structural tension to the wine.
