Triebaumer Traminer Spaetlese 2012
On the palate there is good Traminer spiciness, Nectarines, fresh kiwi fruit, fruit driven sweetness and good minerality, all wrapped up in a fabulous creamy texture. Although it's classifed as a spätlese, the 71g/l of residual sugar does not make this wine overtly sweet, rather giving another dimension to the fruit. Günter says this is the best vintage of this wine to date. Goes well on its own, or with pasta or lightly spiced (eg Thai) dishes, cheeses. Best drunk chilled to 8 - 10° C. 10.5 % ABV.
Triebaumer Blaufränkisch Reserve 2009
A very substantial wine indeed, with a hint of lively sweetness and good supporting minerality. Huge and complex aromas of black cherries, elderberry, chocolate, oak bark, black pepper, sun-ripened blackberries, cedars, notes of blackthorn and juniper. Dry, powerfully structured with substantial smooth tannins which seemingly covered with cherry chocolate. Very long finish with good ageing potential. Drink around 16-18°C.
