This is Dole from the Charrat slope around the winery itself and some from Chamoson - both on limestone - with usually between 85% and 90% Pinot and 10 to 15% Gamay depending on vintage.
It's got the crunchiness and floral side of a fantastic Gamay wrapped around a delicious slightly animal Pinot. It's quite savoury, with just enough supple tannins to lift it up. It's fun, but meaty.
It's a gorgeous Dole, without being too serious.
Tasting Notes Red fruit from both Pinot and Gamay, a hint of mint at times, a touch of earth and leather - elegant and rustic at the same time. Denser on the palate than you'd expect, soft tannins, quite energetic finish. A very "red wine" red wine, if you get my drift
