In Chignin, wines made from the Rhône Roussanne grape are called Chignin-Bergeron. We have two of these Berthollier brothers wines. This one, St Anthelme, is barrique aged, inspired by Château de Beaucastel's Châteauneuf du Pape.

Tasting Notes

Pale gold in appearance

Nose: Initially slightly reductive After a minutes it’s all fat ripe greengages and Cox’s Orange Pippins with a hint of citrus lemon against a mineral background that gives a hint of its Alpine origins

Palate: Dry, high acidity, full bodied (MLF/10 months in barrel with batonnage) , high alcohol and long finish. Pronounced aromas of greengage both fresh and a compote with some nutty notes of hazelnut and some toasty aromas of cedar wood. Rich mouthfeel ( from lees and batonnage) and pleasurable body.
