- The Wine
There is a touch of mystery about this wine. It is very deliberately called 'Cabernet' without specifying which Cabernet grapes are being used.
Depending on who you talk to you get different answers. It is quite evident that the principal grape is Cabernet Sauvignon and that there is plenty of Cabernet Franc included. After that the mystery deepens. Various other Cabernets have been mentioned in passing including, Cabernet Jura, Cabernet Dorsa, Cabernet Dorio, Cabernet Mitos and a couple of others. Only the winemakers know the truth. We readily accept the possibility of Cabernet Jura as that is a Swiss variety that is not very well known elsewhere, but as has already been said, we don't really know.
What we do know is that this is a lovely, almost black, red wine. There are not only the dark berry fruits but also a good helping of green stem flavours.
It is one of Ben's favourites which, seeing as he likes nearly all our wines, means it must be pretty good!
