2009: This is the wine that came in 1st place in a review of 37 different 2009 Beaujolais Cru wines in the September 2010 issue of Decanter magazine. It earned a 5 star rating and a score of 18.5/20.
2011: Tremendous depth of colour with cherries and aniseed on the nose. On the palate, hugely ripe and intense dark fruit, chewy tannins and good minerality. Fantastic length.
Drink around 14°C with white or red meat dishes.
2009: Ben says (January 2017): I wish I had been able to taste this in 2010 when it was young, just so that I could make a comparison. As it is, I will have to be satisfied with the wonderfully smooth wine that it has become. A dark, exciting nose of black cherries and a touch of forest floor leads to a deep cherry taste bound up with soft tannins.
2010: Ben says (July 2018): A year and a half older but still magnificent. There are some 2011 Beaujolais Crus that just can't help being great. This is one of them!
