A lovely ruby, with granite tinges and great clarity.
A complex nose of ripe blackberry and prune fruits, with fruit exploding in the mouth and soft gentle tannins providing structure.
Bottled after 6 months in vat, this will last several years. Drink at about 13°C.
Ben says of the 2011 (April 2018): Despite, or because of, it's age, this is still a lovely wine. It does help that Vincent Lacondemine is a bit of a genius so wines that might be expected to have a shorter shelf life tend to live longer than expectation. This wine still has a few years left in it.
The nose is as described above, with plenty of rich, dark fruits. Thanks to the youthful acidity, the fruit explosion is still there in a very mouthwatering way which engages the taste buds immediately. The tannins are beautifully soft and balance the acidity and alcohol perfectly. A lovely wine for everyday drinking.
Ben says of the 2010 (October 2018): If I had been told that it was a Cru, I would have been only mildly suspicious because this has everything that you want from a Gamay wine, whether French or Swiss. Lovely cherries in the nose and mouth, well-balanced acidity and alcohol, not too light but far from heavy. This is a delicious, easy-drinking red that will continue to please for a few years to come.
