Why we have it:The question should be: Why haven't we drunk the lot ourselves?
Why you should pick this wine:It screams quality in the most refined manner.
What to expect:A stunning sweet wine to accompany foods of all sorts - not as sweet as you might think.
Serving Suggestions:Blue cheeses, foie gras or fruit desserts.
Produced in accordance with the requirements of the Charte Grain Noble Confidentiel, the Mitis is pressed from Amigne grapes that have been allowed to wilt on the vine. The bunches are harvested with their prized noble rot in the month of December.
The Germanier cellar reserves are wines of uncommon distinction. Only the best vines, capable of yielding the most noble and concentrated fruit, are selected.
A vinification in barriques lends them all the complexity and ageing potential worthy of wines for the most special occasions, as much a pleasure to give as to receive.
Amigne comes from "Vitis Amoena", or in Latin, "pleasant grape". "Mitis" is the registered trademark, from the Latin adjective for ripe and sweet.
A full-bodied sweet wine made from late harvest Amigne, with a lovely gold colour and a sublime bouquet of quince, honey, whiffs of orange peel and a touch of vanilla.
On the palate, it is fresh and fruity with a hint of bitter almond and notes of caramel lingering in the finish.
